 This image was taken in my bathroom sink. Here is the set up:

1. Light, 75' wats aimed at sink
2. Sink full of water
3. Lights off in bathroom (exept for 75' wat)
4. Blue tissue paper over 75 wat light.
5. Blue food coloring in sink w/ water
6. Water driping from focet at steady pace

here are the camera settings:

1. Flash on
2. White balance (light)
3. Manual focus
4. Any lens works

I try to capture the drop hitting water. I do best 10/400 shots and eliminate until about 3 left standing, I edit those like this and determin best:

1. Crop, drop in center
2. Auto levels
3. Stamp tool to eliminate any sink that shows
4. Unsharp mask (filter/sharpen/unsharp mask)
5. Resize/submit

Oh that focus and isolated droplet is to die for. you must have had to predict the focus i am guessing.

These splash shots have become so common that it really has raised the bar to fantastic heights to register a good vote it seems. I think this drip technically just meets the challenge of being a drip shot and anymore it needs to have a lighting or pp polish achieve a 7 or higher. 6 - trying to say you chose a hard, hard subject to sell.

Really like the colors and the swirl effect. The off center large drop kind of detracts from the overall effect since everything else is centered.
