A crop from a bigger picture. I was too far away to get this normally.

This dude was talking to another sailor who was on the jetty. Probably about the price of fish.

Processing:

cropped, levels, curves, convert to b/w via desaturation, coloured with brown/grey colour layer set to 15% opacity. Dodged, burned, usual bummage.

My eyes are drawn to the blurred highlights in the background. This distracts from your main subject...The Old Captain...This may be due to the dark foreground slanting towards the background and not allowing your eyes to naturally pan down the main subject.

vry good indeed, like the tones that you choose, the colour suits this down to the ground. the face is full of memorys, well done 8

Very nice. The foreground left thingy may be a distraction. A crop to just the upper left third would make a great portrait.

I really like this shot but think if it was cropped so that the black foreground in the left corner could be discarded and move in closer to that wonderful face it would have more impact.
