Peppers just have great colors.
I am not sure if I would have used the knife. It does not have the cutting edge knife feel because the color is so white.
I don't like the background color being so dull, it does nothing for that red and it makes all the other colors, even the shine of the knife, dull down. I like the detail you captured on the pepper.
Because the pepper is not fresh and rather dried out, it takes away from the healthy image you are trying to portray. Use a fresh new veggie (and maybe a bit brighter lighting) and you've got yourself a very nice photo. You did compose it nicely. :-)
the knife is kinda of blending into the background, i didnt even notice it was there the first time i looked at this. color could be brighter on the pepper as well
