 This is a green heron fledgling. It sat there while I approached to within three feet.

PP: nothing unusual.

this was much brighter and stronger when I opened it, than what I suspected it would look like when I saw the thumbnail. good job getting close!

What a nice close up of a normally rather shy bird. I have a difficult time getting within 100 ft of these little guys. You are so fortunate to have such a good location to go and shoot all your wonderful bird shots.

A real treat, so well photographed and composed. (We have only the Great Blue one here; the green guy is so richly coloured. Would love to see the adult).
