I have been learning the tai chi sword form. It is really fun and good exercise. This is my tai chi master and one of the other students in my class.

Way too much post processing, but the setting was so terrible, that I couldn't get a good shot. The background interfered with the subject, the sun was hot and the shadows were deep. I tried everything I could think of to get the subjects to stand out. I even tried b&W and gradient mapping.

The b&w layer wasn't too bad, but I tried tried different blending modes on it and strange effects happened. I settled on Soft Light mode, which brought back the color but completely changed the look from the original. Then I tried Gothic Glow which I liked a little better, but the face on the teacher was too dark. I settled for both layers -- the b&W/soft light at 50% opacity over the gothic glow layer.

I know the voters will hate it, but I want to play, even if I get a brown ribbon.

Call me crazy but I thought this was funny because of the action going on at the moment. Such an interesting candid. It's cool to me because it does not appear as tho they really care that you are there taking a picture.

Nice try with difficult light. Tai Chi is a beautiful martial art, would love to see more images taken in better conditions. I want to try a similar shot with my aikido class but too busy with training. Good luck with future shots.

I think this would have been really cool against a solid background.

I like this image (the colors, saturation), but the blown out background is very distracting

Composition is very central, and there doesn't seem to be a focal point. Lacks overall interest for me. Sorry.
