The yellow building is the Schloss Orangerie in Kassel. Originally built as a summer palace for the rich and famous at the time, it now serves as a planetarium and a museum.

In the courts, the language spoken was French, and the aristocracy in Europe all followed the lead of the French. When this was built, yellow was the "in" color in France.

OH MY GOD - the Orangerie!!!!!! That path - I have walked it a billion times. Going for walks with my dogs, hanging out, going for fun - you name it. Loved the Aue. In the 80's I co-created an exhibit called Violence Against Women. It was interactive and opened right there in the Orangerie. It made quite a splash, and we ended up showing it in many cities throughout Germany for many years.

During the creation of the exhibit, which consisted mainly of installations, we - the group of us who did this - were at the Orangerie for months every day.

I could go on and on... You can tell I'm excited to see these photos. :o)

Edit to add: Do you have more photos of Kassel? Can I see them? :o)
