Thank you for all of your comments!! The main reason I joined this website was to improve on my photography skills and share ideas with other like minded individuals. As I read each of your comments over the week, I decided I would implement some of the suggestions to see how they work.

Here they are:

' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' kali and ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' krnodil requested a portrait orientation.

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/85000-89999/89723/120/669301.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/85000-89999/89723/120/669301.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21.gif', '/') + 1) . ' jason_cross requested I fix the head alignment and see it in black and white.

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/85000-89999/89723/120/669299.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/85000-89999/89723/120/669299.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/31.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/31.gif', '/') + 1) . ' figaro requested a fade on the feet.

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/85000-89999/89723/120/669300.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/85000-89999/89723/120/669300.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

Other comments that I couldn't accommodate at this time were adding hands and using a different DOF on the feet. I really wish I would have used hands as well. I may re-shoot this with hands for my personal use.

By the way, I really like the way the portrait version looks. Can we do this challenge over? :)

Here is the original:

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/85000-89999/89723/120/669357.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/85000-89999/89723/120/669357.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

Thanks again.

i agree, i thought it would have done better too, maybe the harsh edges to the parts is what brought it down

Excellent. I wish you hadn't cut the feet in half quite so ruthlessly but a very original take on the challenge, lit very well.

This is very creative. I think would distracts me just a little bit is the crop, and the head not being centered in between the knees. Other than that cool idea well done. Have you thought about converting this to black and white?

This is a really cool idea, and well done - as a personal preference, I find myself wanting to see this shot in portrait orientation, head-to-toe, top-to-bottom. Either way, it makes for an arresting image.

Nice image - Like the creativity here - Well done. Also like the lighting and ears. Well done. One more element to balance out the side could have been hands?

This is my only 10 in the challenge. I thinks this is wonderful.

My pick for blue.
I think it might be a tad bit better had you displayed it in the portrait orientation, making the symmetry more obvious and leading.

I just love this as a concept and think the composition is outstanding. For my own tastes I would have prefered a slight deeper dof to sharpen up the feet and knees slightly. Still a wonderful take on the challenge
