This is the spillway, which separates the Mississippi River from Lake Ponchatrain(one fresh water, one not). This is the beginning of the Corps opening the retaining walls to allow the river to flow through to the lake because the river is swollen. This hasn't been done since around 1995 to 1998. This is a pretty rare occurence, so I thought it would be cool to post.

This shot is so clean and sharp I think I can see a tampon floating by.

This image has a goods and bads. The composition is nice and its well exposed. The bad things is the sharpening. It think you used too large radius when you sharpened it because there is an halo around the crane and because the image isnt that sharp. To make it sharper without getting halo I recomend using USM with radius of 0.3-0.4 and strength around 100-200.

I think maybe a little burning of the sky may have pushed this shot over the edge and given me more of an impact, right now, it just looks like a crane on a bridge.
