The best thing about these challenges is I'm learning! I made some critical mistakes on this shot which, in my opinion, move it from very good to very average. I kick myself for missing critical moments due to stupid things like leaving my camera on jpeg instead of RAW, trying to get away with too slow of a shutterspeed, or shooting a single image when I should have done burst. Anyway, we'll see if this can salvage a decent score even though it could have been better.

I think you could have taken the risk of putting the driver into shadow and exposed this to make it darker and then not blow the highlights

It's a pity the horse on the right isn't sharp

Needs just a tad more depth of field. The horse on the left is in focus but the one in the right is out of focus. Alternatively it would work if they were both OOF with the driver sharp.
