First one for the month. Sorry I have nothing special to say about this as I am at work and this was some food we had laying around.

The salad was basic tortellini, capers, onions and tomatoes with oil and vinigar and dill I think.

As for technical stuff, my 150 macro with an SB-800 with a whaletail on it.

Tasty and bright colors. Reading all the other comments, I would suggest a square crop (skip the right side)

I agree with Tlemetry. I would have chosen a peice of Tortellini as my strong focus point and arranged the dish a little so it would be inclusive of all the nice garnish (tomato, caper, red onion and dill etc.). The dof is very cool but maybe a dash too shallow where you it's hard to tell what the dish actually is. I'm a chef and I still wasn't 100% sure that was a Tortellini Salad. All said, it's a very good shot.

yea, that looks lovely (on both counts).

I would have prefered a whole tortellini in the sweet spot if you were to use this shallow of a DOF. Something that really spoke about what the dish is about. It doesn't really tell me what is in the dish if it weren't for your explanation. That focus in that sweet spot is great and the colors are fantastic.

This looks beautiful - your colors are spot on. The DOF is a little confusing to my eye, but the yumminess makes up for it.

Interesting DOF. I like the colors and the shapes, this is a recipe I would love to try myself.

I think that the colors are good and look appetizing. I don't like the out of focus bits especially at the front. It definitely looks good enough to eat.
