Thanks for the honest votes and opinions. This is not to everyone's taste, but... I like it, like it, yes I do.

Thanks for the honesty and criticism. I have quite a few 'moments of madness', especially when editing (also known as 'freefloat') - I envisioned what I'd like to have 'wallsized' hanging in my living room, at the time (based on 'mood'), this is the result. As I said, not to everyone's taste, but that's what happens when you take a 'pure photograph' and tweak it 'artistically'. Here's the 'pure' (which has sadness in it, because of the 'raw truth' that I can see, which I guess is another reason I 'turned it into something else' - hard to explain):

Nice but I really don't like the purple :(

Aside from that it would be nice to have a bit more DOF to get the eyes sharp.

The purple just doesn't do it for me.

Nice capture, could do without the purple cast.

I'm not sure I like the color of this photograph. I would be interested in seeing the original color.

Sorry. The purple doesn't do it for me. I prefer sepia for lions.

I am struggling to understand why you have given this wonderful creature a purple cast? Although their are areas on the left handside of the image which are quite blown this could still have made a nice shot. I would like to have seen the focus on the big cats eyes and a much more natural colour to the overall shot. I do like the close up crop you have done, and if it weren't for the purple 'tint' I would have scored this a bit higher.

This is just my humble opinion.

I dont like the colour or the lack of eye content between the photographer and the lion. 4

Not crazy about the purple filter, would like to see a deeper depth of field that includes the eyes. But a beautiful animal, nonetheless.

Good shot of the lioness(how did know?) but the colour doesn't do it for me.

why do you choose this tones? Could be much better in naturally colors, IMO

The structur of the image is good but the purple color does not fit well to the subject. IMO lions should be yellowish.

I love the perspective - very creative and dramatic. However, the purple does nothing for me. A straight BW would have been excellent.
