 Last shot I posted was taken in my home town of Liverpool. This is the second Liverpool shot (in this side challenge). It was taken on Saturday last week when I was on a walkabout in downtown Liverpool. There is so much construction at the moment, it's barely recognisable.

This building is the restaurant attached to a new Beatles themed hotel (The Hard Days Night Hotel - yep, it's true!). The hotel only opened in Feb 08, so is very new and I suspect likely to be a big hit during the summer. As the European Capital of Culture 2008, Liverpool will be busier than ever during the summer.

Statues of the fab four adorn the building, in case you can't tell, this is Ringo!

This shot would do well with a touch more sharpening, but overall the perspective is very cool. There a multiple layers of interest here.

Sarah, thanks for the story. This is an amazing photo of this building! I know I would sure love to come stay in the new hotel. I have always wanted to see London. It has so much character.

i love the statue of the court jester - the grain appears very realistic and unforced and the close cropping emphasizes the lines

Liverpool would be nice to visit, looks great. A cool building with nice architecture but I will agree with ErickV that a move to either the center or a more to the left might help the composition.

Nice depiction of the architecture and its details. Good composition but might consider either making it strictly symmetrical or positioning Ringo (and the door) per rule of thirds, ie move a bit to the left.

I trust this building is older than the new hotel to which it is attached? Another very good architectural shot - well exposed and processed with good detail. I'm enjoying the peeks into your home town!
