There are four patterns here: the thick low-note strings on top, the thin high-note strings on the bottom, the metal plating/bolts that hold the strings, and two of the many felt ribbons that dampen the vibrations on the strings.

Picture is taken from inside a grand piano. I didn't want to use any flashes since it made the lighting look flat, so I just went with a high ISO, low fstop, long shutter speed, and set up some regular living room lamps that gave "warm" light around the piano and golden look on the strings. I also wanted selective depth of field so that was the other reason for the low fstop.

I couldn't think of much PP that I should do with this pic so I just did: crop, resize, save.

You've got lots of potential here, but I feel you could do with a slightly bigger depth of field with a bit more of the strings in focus.

The way most of this is blurry creates a really cool effect, a nd the little bit that is in focus has great detail and texture.

This is one of my favorites. I love the way the shallow depth of field is used to add interest and and artistic beauty.

Very good use of selective focusing. Seems to be a bit over processed.

I am just not a fan of extremly narrow depth of field.
