For this theme, i'd got idea when my daughter was with Abacus(toy) which was having lovely colors and pattern. Immediatly i thought of catching it as Digital Image.

Little editing is done. Crop , Levels, curves.

Great idea but those red beads I feel take away so much from your photo. I think I would've liked to see them cropped out.

And abacus! Great Idea. Vivid colors and a great angle!

This is one of those shots that could stand alone as is and be generally ok. The creativity that presented itself was sort of left alone. This is an abacus and those little balls could be moved around to create some secondary pattern dimension. A wider angle, some creative movement of beads (don't worry if the pattern is not correct for an abacus, you aren't calculating anything) and you would have something extra special.

good bokeh of an abacus...bet kids these days wouldn't know how to use one!

Great bright color. The plain board ends are a little distracting.

I'm getting dinged right now for artistically using a narrow DOF in this challenge. I hope you are not getting the same cause it really works here. Nice shot!

I like the use of color, but there really isn't much of a pattern in this photograph
