this was a shot for NYIP Unit one... I did last night at our new train station. took this with my new 55mm 1.8fD lens at 2.5 sec exposure

Objective: show a subject in movement either by using a slow shutter speed to blur the subject while keeping the BG sharp

I like the fence.. it adds a real cool dimension to the photo. I love the colors as well. I think the fence offers layers and the perspective of the train moving. It's cool and I like it. I can't wait to hear what the NYIP instructors think of it as well.

I'm not a great fan of the angle personally. I think it might have looked better if the train was through the centre of the frame leaving the top and bottom totally black.

The fence blows as well but there is nothing you can do about that in all honesty. Would have looked cool if the train was coming towards you too.

Good lighting, good colors, love the negative space......I agree the fence sucks, but it's not like you could have taken it out. I like the image very much overall.

the technical aspects of this image are spot on. exposure/contrast/color all looks really good. I think the angle could be a little bit more going down the track line, this might be hard to do cuz you obviously cant get too close to the tracks. good image though, i really enjoyed it.

Good colors, solid blacks and perfect clarity. The fence is the enemy here. It defines the horizontal slope instead of the moving train.
