Old picture. House since torn down, but was inhabited by young people who might otherwise have been homeless, or maybe it was just a drug stop. No idea of its history really.

This is so interesting, kind of sad and forlorn but hopeful too in an odd way I can't even put words to :-) What a great find!!

Wow! This is SO awesome! I LOVE IT! I love the peeling paint. The weedy flowers in front that fit so well with the overall look, but still add a "flower" touch of beauty. The old curtain. This is so appealing. I can really see this one matted and framed hanging in a house. Way to GO!

She lived inside that room
I used to see her there

She would peer out sometimes
Nobody knows from where

Just her there
In the window square

the tear
in the curtain
lets the hope out
but the light
in.

gawd, not too cheesy, eh? lovely shot, 'though

i don't know many that have read that orwell piece on language, meaning and politics. it should, i think, be mandatory reading for all. simply wonderful writing, and so very apt now, in the age of spin.

for those who haven't read it, and are reading this - here it is:

Politics and the English Lnaguage

Windows are such darned photographically great pieces. Especially worn and old dilapilated ones.
Fantastic selection.

looking toward the window
I wonder what once
would have been looking
back at me

I love windows! Something about their shape and the ability to see through them from both sides, while the rest of the structure is completely obstructing our view!!!
