 My father doing what he does best...painting!

Playing with my new 50mm 1.8. Had this been advanced, I would have burned the palette.

Nice. The lighting across the face is just right, and I like how you show enough of the painting so we get a sense of the artist's style. 7

The shadows under the hat are a little too low. You are losing part of that intense stare. And the stare is what draws me into this shot.

I think the focus was on the hat / shirt rather than the eyes. This is going to hurt this shot which was otherwise well lit and composed.

I really like the contrast of color of the palette versus the painting - nice work putting your subject into his environment.

Cool DOF, cool background. I'm just not too keen on the artist's expression. There is nothing here that tells me he's "at work".

Nicely done here. The background supports his environment well. The deer in the headlights look is a toss up if it helping or hurting, giving him a surprised look.
