 Cropped, adjustment layers for levels, curves, hues and sats, brightness and contrast, highlights and shadows, did a little burn around the edges, resized, sharpened added a border and saved for web.

good harsh environment but a bit on the grainy side

A slightly different crop (placing the bird in one of the "sweet spoots" of the thirds rule) would greatly enhance this pic, IMHO. Great tones and "harsh-feeling".
