Tell me where
Where is it written
What is it I'm meant to be?
That I can't dare...

It all began the day I found
That from my window
I could only see
A piece of sky.
I stepped outside and looked around.
I never dreamed it was so wide
Or even half as high.

The time had come
To try my wings
And even though it seemed at any moment I could fall,
I felt the most
Amazing things,
The things you can't imagine
If you've never flown at all.

Though it's safer on the ground,
Sometimes where danger lies
There the sweetest of pleasures are found.

What's wrong with wanting more?
If you can fly...then soar
With all there is
Why settle for
Just a piece of sky?

Erin, wonderful eye to see this. Love the abstract quality, monotone colors and it's the perfect title.

What a great ability you have to make the ordinary look incredibly interesting and artistic! I just love how the curved lines on the asphalt (tires tracking water from the puddle I suppose) become an extension of the tree reflections, wonderful!

You've taken the words away from me...TERRIFICALLY ARTISTIC.

I love how the tree shape extends onto the pattern/lines of the asphalt. A beautiful piece of art (on many levels) - poetry indeed.

GOOD GRIEF. You just outdo yourself each time. How fantastic and could the words be more divine??? I actually liked that dorky movie but I like musicals. This is a terrific blend of the natural and the superficial/man-made. Love the geometry of the lines juxtaposed with the irrularity of the puddle. (Juxtapose - what a killer word.)
