to shallow a DoF for me, this needs to be better focused.

I kind of agree, I wish the whole end were in focus, but I also like the shiny highlights and textures.

Such a narrow DOF... I wish the whole end would be in focus. The area to focus on seems too narrow for my eye comfort...

I also noticed the shallow DOF. I bet this would look awesome straight on at the end of the cable, for a texture shot. I like the color of fresh cut copper wire.

seems to me i've seen something like this recently... ;)
that is a very shallow DOF, what lens is this? somehow i think i've got more lenses than your profile lists. :)

That is the most insanely narrow DOF I've seen, even worse than my reversed 50mm with a close-up lens on it, and I thought that was bad! :-)

You can really see where the focal plane is because on the right some of the sheathing is in focus.
