My son's Arrow of Light badge from Cub Scouts - which he earned tonight.

Nice subject and great color. You can find out if the curve in the field of focus goes concave or convex from the plane of the camera sensor by making a series of marks on heavy paper, like a UPC symbol, and bending it in front of the lens. You may then be able to use that info to help select things with a curve in them that will be sharp from side to side in your reversed 50 images. You will likely find that the curve of the focus field is on a radius from a point inside the lens. You can also use the focus fall off at the edges to shoot dreamy scenes that look good with the softness at the edges.
ETA, Congrats on your son getting the badge. It's good that you take time to help him with his scouting.

Congrats to you too. Having down this with my son I know the parents are also involved in getting this. A smaller aperature might have helped with the slight blur

You're right- that would be a good photo award! The tilt really annoyed me as none of the lines are parallel! In frustration I tried to align on the horizontal gold line (at the base of the rays).

Congratulations on your son's accomplishment. Arrow of light sounds like it should be a badge for good photography. The tilt is slightly distracting but the colors are nice and the detail is very interesting.

Nope, just extremely narrow DOF due to using a reversed 50mm with a close-up lens.
