This is mt first real crack at time lapse and or astro, it turned out really overexposed at first, but with a little PP this is what I got, here is the original...


As you can see It needed some help.

I was about to say the same thing as Tom. Obviously your using a tripod, so there should be no reason to use ISO 400.

This tree looks like it's from Phoenix, and Phoenix is obviously very polluted by light so it's going to be really hard to get an equal balance. I've never seen a successful night time-lapse in a city for the sole reason that light pollution blows out the sky.
If you want longer star trails, lower your ISO, take you aperture all the way up to f/22, and then you can add a few more minutes of exposure.
