Copper wire, approx. 3/4 inch diameter. I've been messing around with HDR, and thought 'why not an HDR macro' :::shrug:::
my camera doesn't braket in RAW, so aperture priority, bracketed in jpeg. upload in Lightroom, export as 16 bit TIFF (not sure how 8bit gets exported as 16, but oh well), ran through photoshops HDR, and here it is.

Had a longer vertical crop, but i didn't like it as much. i like the detail here.

Differant but still appealing.....

The textures on the wires are wonderful and the spilling light could be cropped out IMO. I agree that ther could be come great details on the ends of the wires.

I like the image but think there might be some hidden detail that could be interesting on the cut ends. The back lighting is a bit hot and washes that area out. I like how you got the inner strands to protrude a bit.

I didn't recognize this at first, and I should have because I work with wire a lot. That looks like big wire, maybe 3-0 or MCM 250.
I don't know what to say about the HDR, as there is no original to compare it with. The end result seems a little bright, but the fine texture in the surfaces of the individual strands came out nice. Good subject. It has interesting textures. The one little piece of lint at the bottom keeps me coming back to it for some reason. I think it is partly because it is so different, and oriented differently to the general lines in that area. Good HDR alignment for a manual bracket too.

Nice. This really works well. Great lines and colors.

Nice details. The lighting is harsh along the top especially.

That's nice, you really see the details on the wires. Very nice mac.

So much wires, very nice to see. Fully agree about all the nice details. Perhaps too much light on the top and around. Takes the nice copper look somewhat away.

I like the detail and colors in this image. Your macro HDR idea has potential.

Macro HDR - I like it. The angle is good too. Almost looks like a rock formation - which if you could set it up to look like a bunch of jutting-out rocks(a bunch of wires and something else) could be a good "harsh environment" entry.
