I am blown away at how far you have come as a photographer in such a short period. For real.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I have to agree about the setup and background lighting. I was trying to create a sense of darkness because of pollution, but I didn't pull it off as I wanted. (by the way the model is one of my sons, he is just extremely good looking kid. He gets his looks from his mother)

She looks a little crosseyed from wearing that thing. (That is a girl in there, right?) If not for the title, I would have missed the fact that it is a playground, as the background is so dark.

the sharpness of your photo makes it stand out

may be close up in portrait composition were more appealing.....

This picture would have been neat if the background wasn't so dark. Also, having the subject more involved would have made a very nice shot.

the scary expressions in kid's eyes are just brilliant. this kid has acting potential :)
i did not like the choice of a night-shoot where it is not possible to see the details in the background. this could have been a 10 photo for me if it was shot in day light with high-key post-processing. i wouldn't change a thing in composition and kid's expressions though.

I feel you could have gone with a more moody lighting, and considered what would be in the background

I wish the background was a bit brighter.

I thought this might have been caused by a dirty diaper from whatever creature might have used that swing behind his head.

It would have been nice to actually see the playground... the idea was good but the lighting is also too harsh on your subject.

Really like the idea.. Perhaps the difference of lighting between the foreground and background is a little too much.. The composition is really good but the flash makes the picture seem snapshotish.

Should have brought more light in on the playground.

Interesting idea. However, the background is underexposed, perhaps a different way of lighting the frame would have been better. Keep trying!

Nice idea, Wow that looks like a heavy duty breathing apparatus. I hope it isn't that bad in 2038?? Love the DOF in this image the darkness in the background really works well.

too much light on the person in the pro-mask and not enough light on the "playground" for impact, a different perspective for sure for a entry
