CS3 Color Balance - Midtone 45 44 10 - a platinum tone setting designed to simulate a platinum/palladium print. A variation of R: 55, G: 45 and B: 10 as specified by Dick Arentz a photographer & printmaker. Platinum is often used as a tone, but most often those types of prints were made for archival purpose. I will undoubtedly continue to explore this technique in relation to some of my monotone work.

I feel like an intruder - this is SUCH a fantastic slice of life, but her anguish is heartbreaking.

WOW - just AWESOME!

I would have preferred less sepia - more traditional B&W - but oh so very, very, GOOD!

This is why I love photography. It's not for the lovely landscapes, the sunsets, or the water drops. It's for the moments in life that are universally shared and yet so very individually experienced. Very much appreciate the notes on the processing as well.

What a well done emotive photograph! It brings back memories (way too recent) of my mom's last months. You can really see the love in the daughter's eyes. Also, thanks for your processing detail.

Very emotive shot. It's a reminder of the ever present switch of roles by parents and children later in life. I like the tone but feel that it seems to soften the mood of the shot and it's emotion, an almost warming effect decreasing the emotive response. I feel that this would benifit from straight b&w conversion, though it still is nice and powerful image with undertones of a wide array of emotions.

Ohhhh. . .this photo makes my heart hurt. It touches many memories of faces I grew to know and care about when I would visit my dad. Especially the expression on the mom's face looks so desperate and heartbroken.

It is a very emotive and strong photograph.

there is a sense of documentary to the image - I like the perspective. There is alot going on in the image, but the faces do hold the attention well.

Quite powerful. The platinum tone works well with this very emotional photo, and you have portrayed it in a wonderful way.

This picture is just full of emotion; the look on the mother's face, the daughter looking into her eyes, the hand held for reassurance. These are the types of captures that make me want to become a better photographer.

I agree about the toning; it's quite emotive as is.

This is a great shot. Just an opinion...the toning isn't necessary. It's a real scene, IMHO, keep it real. B&W would fit.

Technically well done, nice and sharp.

Emotionally a very powerful picture. The expression of pain and the look of caring are captured perfectly.
