This is another shot of my friend Kristina, and it's the first time i've done a proper shoot with my new SB-600 - it'll be interesting to see how this shot stacks up against the last one I did of her without it.

The premise was fairly simple in this, flick your hair up and say Boo! I'm happ y with the result and it was a lot of fun to do. This was also the first time I'd tried using a white sheet as a background.

PP - RAW convert, crop, neat image, curves, colour, contrast, created a new layer for the background and Gaussian blurred it, slight cloning here and there to get the wrinkles out of the sheets, resize, sharpen, save for web. All quite a rushed job as the shot was taken on the night of the deadline and edited at 2 in the morning after a pub session - lets hope it looks as good as I think it does in the morning.

I'm hoping this'll make my top 5, quite a bit of thought went into it so fingers crossed!

Post challenge - Right on prediction, in my top 5. I'd like to thank the 2 faves I got for this, you guys rock. The strange shadow/haloing around her hands that a few people have commented on is COMPLETELY my fault. Basically this shot was taken the evening of deadline submission and then processed in the hour or so before cut off point. After I had been out for a few drinks. This seemingly left me incapable of figuring out that to blur the background I had to create a new layer from it and THEN blur rather than just select and blur. Idiot. However, I didn't have a huge amount of time to think about it and I see it as a bit of a lesson in time/booze management.

It is kind of ironic that I got drunk and ended up with a strangely blurred submission...

Fun shot, nice frozen motion, expression, and her eyes as well as the eyes on the ... er... hooter. The exposure may be a bit too much, unless you're going for the high key look. There appears to be either evidence of some movement in the arms or some funny shadowing.

Great composition, you really caught the motion in this one, the "glow" around the model is a little distracting.

fun, energetic model and a great action pose. How many comments are you going to get referencing the shirt she is wearing? Nice done.

Very fun shot! Great expression and capture of the hair in motion. Only thing bothering me is the yellowish background and halos around the arms (? from over sharpening?). It could be due to a WB issue and could be remedied easily especially since this is advanced editing rules.

Lots of life in this shot. Did you try other background colors? Sometimes white gets boring.

I'm doing everything in my power to resist saying, "Nice hooters" based on the shirt. Ok, I definitely won't say that... :) Cute girl... strange glow around parts of her arm/hand though.
