alternate, color version of my entry in the Feb '08 Free Study

friend's kitty :)

Didn't have time to work up this color version before submitting to the challenge; now that I've had a few days to look at it, I find I have a preference for this version over the b/w, although I still very much like both.

I also like this one with the softness, shadows, and blur feeling, as it all evokes a feeling of peace and comfort.....

I love this. Into my faves it goes! This reminds me of various paintings, where the point is the overall scene, not the details.

I can understand why it would be difficult to choose. I prefer the b/w because there is no color to distract from the shadow play - the desaturation helps to accent the abstract. Still, very nice, either way.
