Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Peek-a-Boo (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Olympus E-510
Location: Photo was taken at a studio.
Date: Mar 3, 2008
Aperture: F 8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/60
Date Uploaded: Mar 3, 2008

The purpose of this photo was to have a photo appropriate for the peek-a-boo topic that was sexy with implied nudity only.

The lighting setup was a softbox on the photographers left side for key light, a reflector on the photographer's right side close to the model, and 2 lights in back of the model...one diffused aimed at her lower back and one with a gobo aimed at the back of her hair to give it highlights.

No direct lighting fell on the chest of the model and that was so her chest would not show through the fabric.

Vast improvement over your other nude.

I thought this would do better, it was a fun entry and the lighting is done very well. I really like the eye lashes.

This is pretty. I like the backlighting. Those are some freaky long eyelashes but it works really well here.

Very seductive. I like the lighting here and the translucent look of the cloth. Appealing and different take on the challenge.

Very nice shot here, the model stands out from the background well here. Great capture of motion in the sheet. Beautiful!!

Great wispy hair to go with the flowing drape. Love the fun eyelashes as well.

Yes, please!

Half naked women don't improve a score, but a well done photo that fits the theme does. Not the usual interpretation, but it does fit and is well done.

Very nice idea with the crepey-silky cloth back-lit to show the body profile behind the drape. Great color scheme, the red vs the ivory skin tone, against the neutral blue/gray. What keeps this from being really elegant is the angle of the model's head and the make-up and hair. Sometimes design has to take you all the way into dictating what stands before you. I like the "fly-away" strands, but the rest of the hair is pulled back too tightly. A softer bun or free falling hair with a fan blowing it back would be better. The make-up is too harsh for the softness of everything else. Less mascara, no false eyelashes, lighter lip gloss. The green shadow could work if everything else was toned down. (Or go the complete opposite...make EVERYTHING above the neck angular, severe and over the top...slick the hair completely back, go even darker with the make-up etc.) What you have here is the beginnings of a GREAT fashion photo, that is being held back by a portrait. If that makes sense.

Not a bad fashion shot actually. It looks a little funny how the front hand extends into the back hand giving the viewer the impression the hand is hyper extended :)

Love the lashes and the pose, and this is what peek-a-boo is all about, right? Beautifully lit. I love this pic and have favourited it as well.

The back lighting was an excellent choice for this photo. I particularly like the angelic glow created by the light through her hair.

I'm nit picking but the make-up is distracting to me and the hand on top feels odd. Love the light through the material and the shape of the draped fabric.

Beautiful model and a better take than the traditional peek-a-boo. WOnderful exposure and pose makes this highly rated.

Nice shot, I was going to do almost the same thing but chickened out!

And yes, I do...

Your title sounds contrived to me, and I wish the creases in the fabric weren't as evident. But aside from that, I really think this image is perfect. It definitely meets the challenge, and it is so sexy while being really tasteful and *pretty*. The pose is great and I like the lighting. And the eye makeup gives it an extra "wow". Great job and I hope you do well!
