 Shallow DOF was intentional. It's a cheese grater in case you were wondering!

The grater was place on a blue card which is giving the blue reflection.

Excellent! This is the most artistic cheese graiter I've ever seen! I love your DOF choice and the final angle. I'm particularly impressed that there are not more/larger blown spots given the reflective surface. You chose your lighting well. This is one of those magical perspectives that makes it easy to mentally invert what angle it appears to have been taken at.

The blue reflection works really well here, giving this that little something extra to really catch the eye. I like the way the plane of focus goes diagonally across the frame. Very nice!

i tried to do this shot a couple of days ago as well, and it did NOT come anywhere near how good this is!! love the repetition and blue and silver looks great.

Great composition and abstract macro. Love the blue and silver combo. I also like that the center diagonal is in focus and the out edges are not. Great capture.

I tried this shot a couple of days ago too but just struggled too much with the DOF. You have done this really well and the colour/lighting is excellent :o)
