Edit: After it was pointed out about the tilted horizon I went back and checked it myself. It was indeed tilted and I just uploaded a "straightened" version. This is one of those pictures where either it is straight or looks straight. I tried for compromise and then CS3 crashed and I didn't get it right the 2nd time around (which was original upload).

Another edit: This won a local contest.

My fave part about this is the shadow created by the clouds. Another great pseudo icelandic photo lol. Congrats on the contest win!

i know how hard getting the horizon (to look) straight is when you use super wide lenses!

Wow. What a huge array of textures and tones. It took me a while to get my bearings when I first looked at it.... Actually, on second viewing I had the land a sea backwards. Very awesome photo Ken.

A cornicopia of discrete shades of gray here. I would like to see more of the land and less of the sky (but that's just my personal taste). This shot is quite captivating.

Very beautiful work, I love this view. I had to google Chesterton and am assuming this is or near Lake Michigan.

Holy cow, I wish I had taken this! That sky almost looks like you had to duck under it. Your processing is superb, and the tonal range is impressive.

Oh Ken! This is aMAZING! Dang! I'm so jealous of those beautiful turbulent skies. And your access to the ocean. And snow. But I love seeing your photos here, so that will have to do for me living in this heat scorched state.

Love it and a great capture! Its shots like this where I have to nit pick for improvement Ken. The reflection in the water is wonderful but the 2 things that niggle me slightly are the small blown bit of central sky and would have preffered the triangle of surf in the foreground to have been more white.

It looks straight to me. I like the richness of the tones and the variation in textures.

is that a river or open water on the lake? nice image, the sky is great and adds the size to the emptiness of the snow.

Lovely perspective & tones. It feels like the horizon tilts down at the right, but I'm not sure. I like the composition & the lines.
