Did a 6 miles hike around Herb Parsons Lake today, and was thinking more about how out of shape I've gotten this winter instead of shooting macro. The (heavy) camera hardly made it out of the back pack except when when we stopped for a snack.

No too thrilled with todays entry, but it stood out as it reminded me of Christmas.

DOF is great! I like the details in the leaves.

It looks like an alien. Good DOF, focus and exposure.

Tighter crop - that would be my suggestion. There is too much going on in the background. Plus, the plant looks cool and I want to see a closer look. Nice focus, and good lighting.

I was going to pun around with, Herb Parsons Lake, but couldn't get there at this hour of the day. This is so textural and colorful. I love the perspective and the layers of leaves and flowers. I might have cropped a bit closer but maybe not. I do not get the Christmas reference, maybe 2 years in the tropics has turned my brain to mush. I think the condition is termed, beach brain.

I love the shot but think the crop should be much tighter. The blurred image to the left draws my eye to much from the main subject.

Ha ha! I'd like to see this shot with some fake eyeballs attached to the top of the plant. That's flora with personality.
