A heavy hoar frost. I was aiming to capture textures and integrate them in to the main composition with this one.

I have to say that this is much more interesting than the thumbnail. The thick frost on the left is the first thing to greet you when you open the photo. Then the path leads you down to the tree. Great conversion and I like the composition too.

I think the left side overwhelms the image a little .. I'd like to see the dark path to right more... it has a good contrast and the trees stand out in the gray sky.

I like your perspective, I love the wide angle lens...it's my favorite one to use. The frozen grass leading to the great looking tree is perfect. It definetly portrays the cold very well.

Sara, you succeeded very well in capturing textures and integrating them into a beautiful photo. I really like the barren, cold winter feel of this photo. The only thing I might have done (but I may have ended up putting it right back exactly as it is too) is make the left a little less prominent. Maybe more of a capture of that beautiful frosty lane with a little less of the grass on the left. But the photo really grabs me.

Very nice leading lines to that tree, the frost and dark soil make one really nice picture.

Nice take on whats already a lovely scene. The B&W conversion is spot on in this bold composition. There are not all that many times when a white sky adds to an image but reckon its perfect here. Oh, and being the boring fotog I am did you also take a portrait shot of the right half of the image? (thats a classic shot).

I really like this. I love the detail in the weeds, and the wonderful path that not only leads you to the tree, but beckons you to walk along it.

Very cool! Love the leading lines here and the fogging cold look. As cold as it is it still makes me want to take a walk done that path.

My eye follows the fence and frost right down to the big tree. I like the mist in the background. Good composition.

I like the leading lines in this photo...would have been great for the Leading Lines challenge. I'm also a fan of these low angle wide angle shots. This one is very nice.

this picture is so heavily weighted to the left, that I had to pull back and slide my eyes over to the right, and you know that really works, overgrowth trying to take over, the ground worked by man beside it, leading nicely to a tree that looks just like the tree we all want to shoot, and usually we try to isolate it, but here we have to deal with the surroundings...
p.s. nice mix, bold use of blue channel...

I love the DOF here, and the textures in the foreground are wonderful. This is a photo to be proud of!
