I love the framing provided by the lovely greenness.

I love how the red in the butterfly/moth really jumps out at you. I also really like the soft painterly surroundings.

Great play of complimentary colors and I like that the butterfly's wings match the edge of the leaf. Poor little guy sure looks like he's had a rough day! The focus seems a little soft but these creatures are so darn tough to snap! They move and the wind will make the plant where they stand move... You did good considering the difficulty of the subject.

Love the colours. Too bad about his wings!

awww - poor thing looks like it's had some rough days with those tattered wings. Nice close up to let us see the damage.

I like that there's enough detail to see the eyes and proboscis. It's an interesitng angle. That guy's wings look a little worse or wear.

I like the strong contrast of the colors of the butterfly. Nice DOF in the background also completes this colorful macro.

The butterfly just pops from the green background. Nice detail.

I am certain this is not one of the easiest shots to capture, I am yet to try my hand at bugs and other small stuff! I like the composition and the way the butterflys wings sort of match the edging of the leaf. I am not sure of it's my eyes or if this is a little soft though?

A wonderful play between the leaf and the wings. Kind of looks like the hard focus was on the green jagged edge, more so than the wings. Love the color contrasts. I think the square crop option would work very well here if there is room in the original to rotate the insect without losing the ragged edge of the wing.

Close enough for me to be a macro. The butterfly seems to be a bit ragged like the leaf. Nice contrasting colors.

I like the way you got the detail from the side view. I think I agree with the others on his placement in the image. The green out of focus on the left bothers me, but I also want the butterfly more on the right side of the image. So when cropping I would take a bit more from the right than from the left. Just leave a tad more in front of the little guy than behind him.

I think one of the neatest things about a butterfly is the curly proboscis that they use to sip nectar with. For some reason, it just makes me smile. :) The ragged wing edges seems to indicate a rough life for this little guy, which makes him an interesting subject for the shot. Hajeka mentioned the possibility of a square crop, and I wonder if tilting this a little to the left would work too, to make the line of his body go more diagonally across the shot. Great start to the month! :)

Wonderful butterfly with nice red colors. The blacks on the butterfly looks very dark, but light conditions seems to be difficult. Not too happy with the very green left side (too blurry and bright), perhaps a square crop would work here.
