 This was a taken at the Japanese Festival in Phoenix AZ. There were several martial arts demonstrations, but I was especially fascinated with this mans worn belt. He has truly been a black belt for a very long time.

I like the striking color contrast. Good use of the frame and a terrific natural reference. Something that everyone knows but does not necessarily see.

Hey what are you doing going to a Japanese Festival...you are meant to be in Team America....Was there not a monster truck rally you could have visited

I really like this shot, the crispness of the white, and the great contrast of the 'black' (in parts) belt gives this a real 3d feel to it. Super sharpness on the belt gives it a great textured feel and this works well with the bokeh

Nice take on the challenge with a creative idea. It is well composed and well lit. The slightly blown highlights aren't troublesome here. I think it may have scored even better if the viewer had more of a feeling of interaction with the two people, but the tight crop does show the master's belt well.
