Title says it all really - this is the view I get from the chair :) Trip to the barber for buzz because the last time I did it myself at home I left tiny hairs all over the bathroom :O
Lighting was tricky because of the sunlight coming in from the shop window camera left and the fluorescent on the ceiling. Positioned the tripod between my knees between me and the mirror and set the timer to 30s intervals - so I didn't want to use any fill in flash (either in my face or Pod, the barber's).
Also, the colours in the shot were really dull so I went with duotone conversion.
PP: convert from RAW twice, once to expose for LHS of my face and again for the room, tonemapped face, greyscale, duotone, levels, noiseninja, usm on everything but my face, selective colour to bring out the sun on the sheet and to blow out the overhead lights to make them a bit more interesting (otherwise it was dull empty space that felt weird).

I like this in b/w, only one nitpick, i wish you were more Rules of Thirds to bring the eye more to your head, but its a fantastic shot. |
