 One of the US Forest Service mules and his wrangler/ranger. The mule is wearing a sequin star on his forehead because he just was in a parade. This was taken last August during the Zaca Fire. I'm surprised that the mule and his handler made it to the parade, because the mules were used extensively on the fire lines.

This was shot in passing, and I'm sorry that I didn't get all of the man in the shot.

Cross-processed in raw with a couple of overlays for grain and a yellowish color.

The mule looks like it's saying - man, this star is making me look ridiculous. Excellent catch. I kind of like the cut off man and cut off mule nose - gives it an immediate feel with a lot of intensity.

I like how the mule is focusing directly at you. Nice subtle tone to the image.
