This is expertly focused. Had you focused on the couple it would have ruined the intimacy. The area you did focus on gives it a slight miniature effect that tends to happen when you have a strong background and foreground blur. That in turn gives the image a whole other dynamic. The couple looks even smaller set against the trees (that look more like tall weeds). It's as if they reached the vanishing point yet the point remains small.

I loved this from the minute I saw it. I love photos with little depth of field, and I think the colors are wonderful! This was my pick for blue ribbon!

Think this would benefit from a deeper DOF. Right now the focal point is midway down the image at a point that is kind of uninteresting.

I think having the focus on the two people would be better. Like that just some part of the ground and the handrail is in focus, which isn't too interesting.

Nice picture, I think a larger depth of field would have improved the picture a little though
