The original idea was to have me holding the monitor at my side, like one of those old headless ghost images - then remove my head and put it in the screen as a kind of modern day take on it.

However, as the ideas flowed I thought of the Superman II bit where General Zod and co are trapped in that other dimension...so I figured I'd entrap myself. Will do headless monitor man another time I guess.

Lit from two brollies (yay! my other clamp finally arrived) - both at 45 in front, one high and one low...both with the 430s on full (I think my brollies are shit or my 430s aren't that powerful).

PP: convert from RAW, cloned out distracting bits from background (where my black cloth didn't quite cover the door frame), masked and blended in the monitor image, then usual.

Another quirky, fun picture. Very nicely done, to boot.

diving into the phantom-zone i see, that often happens after you cross into the Texas state line...seriously, im not kidding,lol. great execution here,i agree the head in the zone could be turned a bit to seem more "crammed in",but thats really just a nit-pick from us comic-book fans...super image!

Well done. Looking forward to the headless monitor man, too.... hmm, maybe I can do something along those lines. ;-P

What a fun idea! I just watched Superman the other night and I was thinking the same thing about the Phantom Zone.

The Phantom Zone... you knew one of the old school comicbook geeks would tell ya L()L. I really enjoy this concept and it is lit very well on both images. However, I think the computer one, should have had your head a bit closer and angled to the plane of your hands to help give that smashed/trapped look. Yet still, a great image (-;
