 This was taken at Anini Beach at the end of the road. I like the oppositions here. There are 15 foot waves breaking at the edge of the reef and no waves inside the reef. There is a snorkeler and people fishing near each other. There is the bright yellow sand and the bright green and blue waters.

Anini Beach is one of the safest beaches to swim at on Kaua`i. The reef is large and the waves even at 25 to 35 feet don't effect the swimming area of the reef. There is a roar of the breaking waves and the tranquility of the light lapping of the water where it meets the sand.

I like the layers of color leading out to the waves. It is amazing how the reef breaks the waves and keeps the swimming area so safe.

oh, pretty. makes me want to tell you to put the cam down and head in for a dip...attractive trasitions from the water to the sand, to the water to the ocean...and the varying shades of the ocean grenn and blue

This is definitely the beach for me. I'm not into the waves. Beautiful colors running through the photo - I agree with Germaine that it would be awesome in large.

Good composition with the horizontal bands of color. Too bad we can't see this enlarged, on a wall. 640 pixels doesn't do this justice.
