Thanks for the comments. I was tired doing panning of your typical motorcycles, bicycles, cars, runners, etc. or anything similar.

So, I tried a motion blur pan, focusing on an atypical subject. In this case the wing. Slightly blurred on purpose.

I knew it would do real well here, but what else is new.

Okay - you're probably going to get marked down because the body isn't in crisp focus, but I think this is the best image of the whole bunch. I just love it's powdery qualities and the general motion blur captures the flight and spirit beautifully. 9!!

Good idea, maybe it would have been better if there was less movement. The focus of the photograph is still out of focus.

definitely panning. Looks pretty noisy, and would have been better if we could see the bird's head. shutter speed selection looks good.

No obvious focal point and everthhing is fairly blurred. It the head was visible and was sharp then it would be completel different story

Certainly conveys motion but would be so much better if the body of the bird was in focus. My initial thought was that this looks like a failed attempt at panning.
