This is a great shot. I can see how people didn't see the panning, but challenge aside, this is a great capture.

Looks like you froze the action, but for the challenge I think it would have been more effective to slow down the shutter speed to get some motion in the wings.

the background is hardly out of focus, but the line and contrast it creates are nice

Just not enough motion here to make it fit the challenge in my opinion. I understand that you probably were panning in orderto capture this, but I like the effect of a slower shutter combined with the pan for a special effect.

The bird in this picture is really crisp and clear, you can tell what your focus point is, but the fore ground isn't in motion, but this is one of the better bird pictures that I've seen

Beautiful shot. The shutter had to be pretty fast to stop those wings and, unfortunately, it stopped the background too so I don't get a panning feel from it. Still, high marks for a really nice looking shot.

not seeing the panning... great pic, but the water should be out of focus.

Lovely shot; great job on the exposure and detail. But ... the in-focus water in the foreground makes this look more like a stop-action than a pan.

very nice shot of the bird. I think the shutter speed was too short, and takes away any sense of motion. would have been higher score, with the longer exposure time (higher degree of difficulty)

nice picture but not much panning ... slower shutter speed would have worked better

Lovely shot, but I can see the water clearly below the subject. I woudlnt consider this panning.

Not so much a pan as a freeze frame

shutter too fast for any panning effect
