B/W version of

Created by making the R, G, B, and luminance channels into separate layers, masking each layer and painting on it to adjust/eliminate areas that weren't optimum, varying opacity on the layers, masking the composite with a gradient mask layer faded, and using hue/sat in "colorize" to bring in s slight cool tint.

My first attempt at this technique, all I can say is WOW...

The "duotone" aspect of it is just an overlay on the process, nothing new there. The dodge/burn and gradient work has already been incorporated; each separate channel layer has been worked on on the layer mask to that effect. This is a relatively muted rendering, for sure. I am going to try a more aggressive version, this was just the first runthrough.
