 Inspired, of course, by yanko. His shot is better, but I've always wanted a good head-on shot of Joe.

Single Nikon speedlight, through 2 diffusion panels above and in front of the cat, who is perched on a chair covered with black cloth. Allex, also dressed in black, is holding him in place. It took about 50 shots to get him to look at the camera.

Post processing:

Conversion from raw in Lightroom:
* crop
* white balance
* levels and contrast
* increase saturation
* decrease green and blue luminosity to -100 (His eyes were reflecting a piece of blue art in the background. Decreasing the luminosity fixed this.)
* decrease magenta saturation to -100 (fix CA problem on whiskers)

In PS:
* hue/sat layer to increase saturation in yellow eyes.
* USM to improve local contrast
* resize
* smart sharpen
* save for web


Post challenge: As Art Roflmao said, I'm going to have to work with Joe, to get him to flap his wings. I need something besides hummingbirds for my profile page.

The only thing that I think would have made this better is a pair of wings flapping at 3000 times per minute. ;-) Great job!
