I grabbed this shot on the way home from work. A storm was just clearing out and everything was covered with ice. The sun was low and off to the right really lighting up the trees.

The thing I wanted to convey in this shot was the scale of the storm. I loved the way the slopes of the two distant hills were illuminated just on the ridges. The sky was pretty awesome too! One of those times where I found it really difficult to capture and display the beauty as seen with the naked eye.

For me the frosted trees are the strongest part of the image the clouds are good but man the trees behind the cows have great light and structure. I would have voted that image a 7 or 8 while giving your posted image a 6.

beautiful view, especially the cloudscape. love the almost horizontal light from the right. Totle doen't fit too well, IMO, the overall tone is too warm. were also gone for a tad more saturation and contrast.

This is terrific. I can't imagine why no one felt inclined to comment (I didn't get around to voting in this challenge). I like the way it gradually pulls your eye deeper and deeper into it, starting with the ground, the trees and hills, the low clouds and finally the sky itself. (And who would give this a one?!)

Beautiful scene - one that I imagine stops you in your tracks. The landscape alone without the clouds is very nice, I can't discern much detail in the fore at this size, so .. difficult. I wonder whether the clouds cropped to eliminate the top left darker one may have given this image a little extra. A very strong crop of the clouds to allow the land to shine through more would also make a good image, but .. a different one.
