I rather like the way that this looks like a candid shot. |

good focus and catchlights. You're right about the yellow - try a piece of parchment (or waxed) paper available in groceries for cooking. It works perfectly and it is inexpensive. |

Keep the beard. I'm a huge fan of beards. Husband has had his for all 34 years of marriage. Now both sons have one, off and on!
I really like the fun personality you've shown in the outtake. I suspect we'll see more of that side during the next month. |

Good start. Think I like the outtake better. |

The color cast isn't so bad, actually works for me. If you want to get away from the color cast try a ping pong ball with a little wedge shape whole in it and slide it over the pop up flash...works really and diffuses the light in all kinds of directions.
With these 30 day self ports just relax and have a good ol time, day 8 or 10 you'll start lovin' it. |

not bad, I never thought of the post-it trick for the pop-up. Although I think I prefer your outtake; always enjoy high emotion. Nice start. |

I don't know that I mind the color cast, gives it a different look. |

Good start to this challenge. I have my first real beard too. Isn't it fun trying to figure out how to trim it? |

I like the catchlights. As was said, you should be able to adjust for the color cast. I would look for a little more DOF, as your shirt and necklace seem a little OOF to me. Great, sharp, focus on your face, though. |

Jon! Good to see you here. Neat idea for the post-it note as well! :) I agree with Louis. I think that maybe if it's possible, a little color cast adjusting might make this better. |

You could also have adjusted the colour cast in your editing software if you'd have liked, reducing the cast. The flash made for nicely shaped catchlights in your eyes. |

try using a kleenex with a rubber band around the pop up flash for a softer light. |
