This was taken at the corner of a room. I bought wood wallpaper to give it the feel of a older room. I borrowed the props like the picture frame and the candlestick. My mother does sewing for a living and this old sewing machine was a perfect backdrop for a photo. I wanted to make it look as old fashioned as possible. I used the lights from the candles as well as a very soft spot light to accent it more. The original is shot in color but I made it black and white to add to the personality of the shot. The only other thing I did to this photo was crop it. And I am very pleased with the end result.
