Took me a second to notice the missing foot. Would be interesting to see this guy in action. Lighting seems a bit harsh on the bird and dark in the background.

Ah, I guess he's well looked after now, one would hope so anyway. You probably know the sunlight is too harsh in this photo, not sure if you could tone it down by adjusting the curves.

Poor old bird, the lighting seems a little harsh and perhaps a little over sharpened?

I think the background is a distraction here. I would recommend using a larger aperture to make the background more out of focus.

The exposure is a bit too hot and he needs a little room in front of him to move into. But...he survives and that's cool!

He'd probably still have that other leg if he didn't keep standing on barbeque grills... Light is a bit harsh/strong but a very good specimen to photograph.

And he'll probably kick you with his good leg!

Some blown highlights and a slightly too busy background. Also, the bird is caught in mottled shadows. Using a wider aperture may have given you less DOF and blurred the background more.

He seems to be a little blown out on the wings, head and leg. But what a capture, very good title for this shot. Good luck

Oh, my, poor heron. Looks like he got lucky and ended up at a refuge. I think I might increase the saturation a little on him and lower it on everything else to cut down on some of the distractions in the background, particularly the fence.

I don't care for the editing done to this image.

Overexposed but what a shame about the foot!
