Wasn't going to enter, but just playing around with my macro with these cards on my desk.

Shot in RAW under soft white flourescents, adjusted color balance and fiddled with some other settings in the Pentax Raw editor, opened in PSElements and adjusted levels, desaturated everything except the red channel, then backed that off a little, big USM adjustment (high radius about 30%) to glow the card markings, messed around with some different borders and settled on this one.

Decided to enter against my better judgment. But oh well, after this many failed experiments how bad can another 5.x hurt.

the halos indicate over-processing to me.

I think you went a bit overboard on the PP. The strong halos throughout the image don't really help the image IMHO.

Cool shot, I like the oversharpened look as it gives this an edgey feel.

This picture is very creative. It has two focal points, one being the cards the other one being the dice. I like how it has a repeating pattern with the cards (6666) and then the dice in front of it showing three on one and three on the other dice which equals six which I think is very creative. Also in the cery front on a different side of the dice it also shows six. So you can tell this picture was very thought out and i love how its just black and white, it really makes you see what the focal point is.

Don't hilight the edges of the subject(s) like that, this could have been a great picture though...

I don't like the graininess... looks oversharpened. Cool concept though.

careful with post processing - halo around the shapes and numbers too obvious

Oversharpened (halos) and posterizing in upper right corner. Basically, it's overprocessed.

Looks to be a bit noisy, otherwise nicely done.

I would like to see this in black and white

I like the tight crop, but very 'sharpened' halo around everything and the focus loses it in the foreground.

over sharpened.

This is a good idea but it's a little grainy. The grain just doesn't fit the image
