Challenge: Framing III (Basic Editing)

Location: at home
Date: Jan 19, 2008
Aperture: f5.6

Date Uploaded: Jan 20, 2008

I tried to convey the idea of breaking out of the "frame" and yet being caught in another frame... I used a Flash placed on the camera, and a desk lamp to give additional light...I wore a black T-Shirt so that my arm would dissapear in the background...

After taking the shot I used Levels, Curves, Brightness/Contrast and desaturated the picture a bit, leaving only a little bit of colour in the hand.
Then Crop, resize, sharpen and added a border...

Very well done. Art background has taught breaking the border is good and you've done that twice. Great job, very creative IMHO. 10

Definitely a striking and high quality image. It will be interesting to see if this passes as "framing" to voters.

i like how it meets the challenge in all kinds of ways. each finger is framed on two sides by the frame and the frame is framed on two sides by each finger. really 'grabs' ya :)
