Challenge: Framing III (Basic Editing)
Camera: Nikon D70
Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED
Location: Home
Date: Jan 19, 2008
Aperture: F 5.6
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/60
Date Uploaded: Jan 20, 2008

Process: Crop, A little neat image, color balance, curves, saturation, resize, usm (multiple passes with very small radius)
I had to compress this image a lot because of fine details (fyi 74% jpeg quality in "gimp"). I hope the resulting jpeg artifacts do not affect the score too much.

Nicely framed, and love the detail in the decorations. I wish the focal point was a bit further back though so that her eyes/face were more focused with the fabric being less of the focal point. As it is, my eye is immediately drawn to the circles of gems in the lower left corner.

Wonderfully shot -- her face is framed within a frame of her hair and then within her headscarf. Nice coposition and colours.

Nice framing, beautiful subject, just wish her face/eyes were in focus

Her face is certainly framed, which is cool, although I'm not sure that the framing is really a background or foreground element. Just an observation. :)

My first impression is that the scarf is very well focused and sharp, especially on the flat plane. Because of that it makes her face seem soft, almost too soft. Her left eye (our right as a viewer) is sharp, as is her mouth. Looks like the shallow DOF made her nose and the leading scarf edge fall out of the focal plane. I guess what I'm trying to say is the scarf is more dazzling and sharp than the intended subject and is stealing the show a little.

All JMO of course. :-) Good luck in the challenge.

beautiful shot. I do find all the hairs distracting though...

Nice idea. I wish the face was in focus. Seems like the focus is on draping fabric (the "Frame") and not on the subject. Still a good attempt.Goodluck.7.

i like the shot, and the colors, i just wish the left eye was more in focus and that the hair wasn't covering it as much. but still a really great shot!
